Acknowledgment Policy

hero-curves

The Trust does not require or seek publicity for its financial contributions. While anonymity is not necessary, we ask that you kindly adhere to the Trust's guidelines should you choose to publicly acknowledge a grant from the Trust. These guidelines were created to emphasize the work of the Trust’s grantees and not the Trust itself.

If you wish to acknowledge the Trust, please review this policy and contact Dan Gaff, Director of Grants Management, at dgaff@smithht.org for additional guidance and approval:

  • When naming the Trust, list it as the Stanley Smith Horticultural Trust.
  • With prior approval, the Trust may be included in a list of donors in your newsletters, annual reports, requests to other foundations, and on your website.
  • With prior approval, the Trust's logo may be used in print or digital acknowledgement.
  • With prior approval, the Trust may be named in other publications.
  • With prior approval, the Trust may be listed on donor walls or plaques that include the names of other funders.
  • With prior approval, the Trust may be named in press releases and programs.
  • The Trust’s name, logo, and description should not be featured prominently in publications, to prevent the appearance that grantee work is that of the Trust.
  • The Trust’s name should not be placed on vehicles, banners, or buildings.
  • The Trust should not be named in advertisements or event invitations.
  • The Trust’s grant should not be announced on social media such as Facebook, Instagram, or X (formerly Twitter)”.
  • The Trust does not accept recognition through honorary celebrations or dinners and does not accept awards from grantees.
